This humorous and characterful YA book, tells the story of recent graduate, Hattie, who finds herself living back with her mother, wondering what the hell to do with her life. She navigates a series of demeaning part-time jobs in a bid to make some cash and of course, humiliate herself as much as possible! Luckily, she has the help of her intelligent best friend, Pod the ‘therapy’ rat, who attempts to psychoanalyse Hattie's socially paralysing experiences in her shiny new "adult-life".

Throughout these experiences, Hattie moves closer to discovering her true passion, but afraid of failing at the one thing she truly cares about, she decides it’s safer to hold back. Pod tries everything to help his friend find the guts to pursue her dreams, but in the end, Hattie must find her own way.
